Cool off this summer with this easyDye Free Kool Aid. Made with only 3 ingredients in under 20 minutes, you'll have a refreshing pitcher-sized drink to sip on all summer long!
3(2 ounce) bags freeze dried fruit (strawberries, blueberries, or mixed berries)
3tablespoonsgranulated sugar
8cupswater
Instructions
Add freeze dried fruit and sugar to a food processor. Process until the fruit is a fine powder consistency.
Add water to a large pitcher or glass measuring cup. Whisk in the powdered fruit.* Let sit for about 10 minutes.
Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the mixture into a pitcher for serving. Serve Kool Aid chilled or on ice.
Notes
*The mixture might get clumpy but just trust the process. Try to whisk it vigorously to incorporate as much of the dried fruit into the water as possible.
I do not recommend making the powder ahead of time. Because of added moisture in the air, as well as moisture from the sugar, the powder will become sticky the longer it sits out, which will make it harder to mix into the water. Therefore, I recommend blending the freeze dried fruit and sugar right before making the Kool Aid. This only takes about 5 minutes. Then, make the Kool Aid according to the recipe above.
