How to Cut Dragon Fruit Quickly for Snacking

  • Cut in half lengthwise. Place the ripe dragon fruit on a cutting board and cut it in half lengthwise.
  • Open the dragon fruit, exposing the inner flesh. The edible portion of a dragon fruit is the white inner flesh with black seeds.
  • Scoop out the flesh. Using a spoon, scoop out the interior of the dragon fruit.

  • First, cut the dragon fruit in half, exposing the inner flesh.

Refrigerated ripe dragon fruit will typically last up to 5 days in the fridge and should be enjoyed before it becomes too soft.
To store cut dragon fruit: Cut dragon fruit will spoil considerably faster than whole uncut dragon fruit, but can be stored for up to 3 days in an airtight container or zip top bag in the refrigerator.
If you won't be able to enjoy your dragon fruit within three days, flash freeze it on a baking sheet until solid. Then, store it in a zip top bag in the freezer for up to 3 months.
