With just ground chicken, apple, maple syrup, and pantry spices, you can quickly whip up these homemade Chicken and Apple Breakfast Sausages that are perfect for meal prep and busy mornings!
Add all ingredients, besides olive oil, to a large mixing bowl. Mix to combine.
Form ground chicken mixture into 8 medium patties and place on a baking sheet or plate.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, transfer the chicken sausage patties into the skillet, leaving some space between each one. You may need to cook the patties in batches, depending on the size of your skillet.
Cook each patty for 3 to 5 minutes, then flip and cook another 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
Serve chicken and apple breakfast sausage warm as a side to eggs, toast, potatoes, or any of your favorite breakfast foods. You can also serve them on English muffins with eggs and aioli for a breakfast sandwich.
Notes
If your raw ground chicken is watery, use a paper towel to dab out some of the excess moisture prior to adding the apples and seasonings.
Make sure to dice the apples pretty small so they cook quickly in the sausage patties.
Marjoram is a dried herb, similar to oregano. It gives the ground chicken a sausage-like flavor. It can be found in your grocery store's dried herbs and spices aisle!
